Flap Dissection Workshop 2018
A flap dissection workshop was organized by MSPRS using Silent Mentor cadavers on 23-24 Jan 2018.
A total of 12 participants comprising plastic trainee and general surgeon trainees attended the two day workshop.
On the first day, many lectures were held to give introduction to the participants. There were video shows on the main procedures as well. On the second day, the participants had the opportunity to practise hands-on flap dissection on the Silent Mentors.
The feedback received showed that the participants appreciated the chance to perform the flap dissection under close guidance from the tutors. This gives them more confidence to perform it in real-life situation.
The organising committee hopes to make this event an annual programme to provide more chance to train new surgeons.
